Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem™ is a complementary therapy that optimises how you look and feel by addressing the factors that influence your general state of health and wellbeing.
How does it work?
You’ll have heard of reflexology, the therapy that works through the feet. Rather than working through a part of you that nobody sees, Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem™ works through your most visible feature. Your face is richly supplied with nerves and blood vessels. Its closeness to the brain means that stimulus takes the shortest possible route to the control centre of the body to address your health imbalances.
The entire surface of the face is treated (except the eyelids), stimulating a natural improvement in the blood circulation, lymphatic drainage, muscle tone and nerve fiction. These all contribute to an enhanced feeling of well-being – and a glowing complexion!
What are the health benefits?
As a complementary therapy, Facial Reflexology addresses all aspects of an individual: emotional, physical and mental. Therefore any imbalance of the body can benefit. It is appropriate for health issues as diverse as menopausal and hormonal issues, digestive problems including IBS, migraines, muscle tension, the general effects of a stressful lifestyle, and even learning and behavioural issues in children.
What’s a treatment like?
A detailed health history is always obtained on your first appointment. An analysis is made, to assess your current health status and a specific treatment plan is designed.
The treatment is deeply relaxing. You don't realise how much tension builds up in the muscles of your face – tensions which can permeate the entire body. You use your face hundreds of times a day to laugh, eat, talk, frown, express and suppress emotion: all these all result in an accumulation of facial muscle tension that the deep releasing strokes of face reflexology will steadily dissipate - achieving a corresponding improvement in your sense of well-being.
Every session commences with the stimulation of facial acupuncture points to enervate the nerves and lymphatic and blood circulation of the face. We then proceed with a series of different treatment procedures on face maps, which represent your 12 major Chinese energy meridians, your physical and psychological aspects. Through these maps, the brain and nerve system is stimulated and the healing process initiated. Cranial lines and points are also used where appropriated.
A treatment normally last from 45 to 50 minutes. The therapy is appropriate for clients of all ages including children (who respond particularly quickly) and those with disability. The benefits continue for some days and a course of treatment is advised.

My only tools are the fingertips, using an oil or cream to achieve a deep massage of the face maps. I use pure Rose Mosqueta oil from South America and a blend of aromatherapy cream, custom-made for Mind Body Positive.
